Almond milk live raw & delicious

For those of you who love a cold glass of milk with a sweet treat or a bowl of cereal try almond milk instead of cow or soy milk. Dairy & soy are both highly allergenic and many find them difficult to digest. Soaking the almonds activates the enzymes that otherwise lay dormant, these ezymes help with digestion.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, almonds are considered anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, and are also used as a tonic. Also known as brain and bone food, probably due to their high calcium content. They help with alkalinizing the blood and relieve qi stagnation in the liver.
In Ayurvedic medicine almonds are used to strengthen ojas and are said to nurture self control and calmness of the mind and nerves.

1 cup almonds

water

stevia or agave optional

pinch salt

In a glass bowl cover almonds with filtered water and soak overnight around 12 hours.
Rinse almonds
Put almonds in blender add 4-5 cups filtered water, salt, and a little sweetener if you like.
Blend on high until smooth.
You can use the almond milk at this point but some prefer to pour milk through a nut milk bag or cheese cloth. I actually prefer it straight out of the blender. You can play with the amount of water if you like it a little thicker use less water, thinner use more.
